Hartwell Financial Services is a family owned and operated wealth management firm based in Torrance, CA. Since 1986, we have provided comprehensive financial plans and investment advice to families and businesses. Keep reading to learn more about who we are and what we do.
As one of the principal advisors of the firm, Connor brings a robust professional history to the team. He holds his Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation, Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) designation, and an inactive Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license. He received his bachelor's degree from UC Santa Barbara in Economics and Accounting. Prior to joining the firm in 2019, Connor worked in public accounting, private wealth management, and mutual fund sales. His areas of expertise include portfolio construction, tax planning, and investment analysis. On his days off, Connor enjoys spending time with his wife, Alex, and their daughter.
Daniell Stearns serves as office manager of Hartwell Financial Services and handles many of the important logistics for the team. From tracking required minimum distributions to keeping client records up to date, Daniell is deeply knowledgeable on daily operations. In addition to helping the HFS team, she provides many of the other advisors in our branch with the necessary information to conduct their businesses effectively. When not at work, Daniell enjoys spending time with her husband, Steve, and their two beautiful children.
Grant Hartwell, CFP®, is one of the principal advisors of the firm. Having worked with Phil for over 10 years, Grant helps make sure that the client experience stays consistent and focused on comprehensive financial planning. His areas of expertise include cash flow and debt management, insurance planning, and multi-generational legacy planning. You will also find him leading the enrollment meetings for our 401(k) clients. When Grant is not at the office, he enjoys staying active, and exploring Los Angeles with family.
Phil started Hartwell Financial Services in 1983 and continues to serve as the firm's principal advisor. Having earned his Certified Financial Planning designation early in his career, Phil's philosophy is centered around comprehensive financial planning. He also serves as a branch manager for Royal Alliance, working with other advisors to maintain their businesses. Phil's areas of expertise include investment research, retirement income planning, working with small business owners, and college education planning. In his free time, Phil enjoys cooking with his wife Kelly, and visiting his family on the East Coast.
